Switching to Void with the same stats has a DPS of 10.0. So you are going to be hitting very slightly higher with void, but you're going to be eating more and get much shorter trips with void. Just eating more alone is going to hit hard on your dps. The Spined helm and Archer helm have a +6 range bonus. Blessed d'hide coif: +7. Robin hood hat: +8. Third age range coif: +9. Karil’s will give you the best DPS but it gets pricey since the bolt racks aren’t saved by Ava’s devices. MSB with rune arrows are better than RCB but slightly worse than Karil’s, but rune arrows work with Ava’s. Wait for blowpipe tbh. I take off my plate body and legs when I mage dharok and Karil for higher mage accuracy, then bring a range gear switch for Ahrim. I use the full DDS spec bar on Ahrim before I finish him off with a MSB (i).

They are a reward from Barrows with at least 881 [1] reward potential, purchased from Ak-Haranu's Exotic Shop on the Port Phasmatys docks or the Last Man Standing shop . The main use for Karils is Magic Defence and I believe it is the strongest Magic Defence armor without a Melee Attack negative, which is why you might see it used more for Melee than for Ranged.
