When I had another Bulgarian AK-74 with an AK-74 brake they did fit. I'm going to have to pull the rifle out of the safe and see what the issue is. Appears there is a hair too much metal on the bayonet just behind the ring which contact the muzzle device as it is slipping on that prevents the bayonet from moving rearward just the last little ....
