It never had a lock, it had a text field in the display available but never functioned. There were some users that were seeing the keypad lock on the SDS100 actually functioning through the Sentinel software in the early versions. The is no "Setting" on the scanner to increase the speed. It's a SLOW scanner. You can mess with hold times and delay times in programming. The only thing I've found that helps is increasing the squelch above 1.I noticed the SDS100 has a dedicated battery pack so that is a buzzkill compared to AA batteries I'm used to. I will be required to purchase an extra battery and charger. I'm not totally against home unit because I generally only listen in the home but if the sound quality is good on the SDS100 and they generally same features I'd do mobile.The SDS100 is a scanner that is built for the outdoors. It features an IPX4 rating [1], which protects it from dust and splashes of water. Just received by SDS-100 was not receiving anything and was returned to Uniden. Received the unit back today and still no radio traffic. Repair that was performed was cold solder joint. Explained in my note to them have worked with radios since the 1980's. I know how to program and operate radios.SDS100 on Site 64 RSSI -80dbm steady with 0 D-errors strength bars remain constant and "DATA" is displayed constantly while on hold as well as all the sysinfo I want dispalayed stays in view. SDS100 on Site 63 RSSI -90dbm fluctuates to -95, D-errors 20 ( would be an approximate average ) this fluctuates from 0 to as high as 90.May 2, 2019 · The G5 battery will last MUCH longer, and it’s lower capacity than the SDS100 with big battery. Both fully charged and locked onto one TG, the G5 lasted 20.5 hours, while the SDS lasted 8 hours. G5 screen timeout set to 45 seconds and SDS100 set to 10 seconds.
