A stock 200 should handle 350-400hp on the street. With track abuse or big stickies then only 300-350 without issue. True a stock 700 or 4l60 can handle 400-450 and @400 at the track. There's pro/cons to both. The 200 is an easier swap but it also has better gear ratios than the 700.I destroyed my stock 3.73 non-posi rear end at 4400elevation with a 353 corrected rwhp car. from what ive gathered if your 6sp the only weak link is clutch, once thats good you can go up to +350whp with no other issues. I haven't read much of snapped axles, diff, or bent rods and theres people on apr stg3 (gt28) with stock internals. dsg has no weak links imo, its good out the box for +400tq.

A 34 element sprag (stock on later models) and some hydraulic modifications, heavier intermediate snap ring, assembly tricks is about all it needs. All the same mods you do to the TH400, you do to the 4L80E. It can also be setup for full manual operation, no controller required. They sell an aftermarket headgasket that they say u can run higher boost, but i'm not sure how much higher. People have been able to pull off 10-12psi on stock internals daily driven with very good tuning. However that is REALLY pushing it.
